TSPI and PhilHealth: Partners in delivering health care to women micro-entrepreneurs

Through a partnership with the government's health insurance program and delivery arm -- PhilHealth, TSPI clients and their dependents can avail of health insurance services effective 2005. On a pilot scale, three branches in Quezon (Lucena Branch), Cavite (DBB Branch) and Laguna (Biñan) will have the privilege to initially offer the benefit to their active clients totaling no less than 9,000 women micro-entrepreneurs. TSPI expects to roll out the benefit to all branches by 2006.

PhilHealth accredited TSPI as a Category A partner, the highest category that an institution can receive under "Partnership of Organized Group Initiative (POGI)" program. TSPI garnered an accreditation rating from PhilHealth of 90.25 which recognizes TSPI's "high level of solvency and liquidity... and highly competent people manning the helm of the organization...

TSPI developed a new loan product referred to as "health insurance premium loan" to assist the clients pay for the required annual premium of Php 1,200 per family.
