*LIVING BY HER OWN FORMULA OF SUCCESS*:
Rosita Subia Center 49 LAOAG BRANCH

“Kung may tiyaga lang at iingatan ang hiniram sa TSPI, lalago ang negosyo” (If only there is hard work and good stewardship of the loan from TSPI, business will grow). Rosita Subia or Nanay Rosy as she is commonly called in the community encourages her co-TSPI members through her principle of hard work and good stewardship.

The challenges faced by Nanay Rosy brought her optimistic outlook. Prior to her membership with TSPI, Nanay Rosy left her family in the year 1995 and worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker in another country for six (6) years. Upon returning to the Philippines, she did not have enough income to sustain her family, which led her to babysitting children for her neighbors and at the same time selling vegetables in their community by riding her bicycle even at the age of forty- five (45).

Married to Federico Subia and with four children, a monthly income of P3,000 did not suffice for the family’s basic needs. But because of her determination to improve their family’s quality of life, she decided to avail of a loan from TSPI. With the persistence of Dalisay, an Account Officer of the TSPI center in their community, Nanay Rosy was encouraged to join the program. With a starting capital of P5, 000, she was able to put up a small variety store and venture into hog- raising.

Nanay Rosy, now on her third loan cycle, has already doubled her loan amount to P10,000. She says “Hindi ako makapaniwala na napalaki ko ang aking puhunan. Nabayaran ko rin ang aking hiniram sa TSPI” (I could not believe that I was able to grow my capital. I was also able to pay my loan from TSPI). Together with the increase in her capital, Nanay Rosy’s variety store also continues to grow. Furthermore, she is now raising three (3) hogs while she only started with one. Nanay Rosy also availed of special loan for his husband’s farming activity.

Nanay Rosy’s dedication as a TSPI client and good stewardship led her appointment as treasurer of Center 49 and Cluster 6. Indeed, her formula for success, hard work, determination and good stewardship continue to give her hope that enables her to make a difference in the life of her family and others as well.
